Meet Paige Abrams, LCSW
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Health and Mental Health from the University of South Carolina. My professional background includes work with the Department of Juvenile Justice, community mental health, and private practice. Through these experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse individuals across a variety of life stages and circumstances, which has shaped my flexible and culturally responsive approach to care. I also provide behavioral consultation and support for individuals and families navigating behavioral challenges in everyday settings.
I work with individuals and support clients navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety and stress, depression and mood-related challenges, life transitions, identity development, self-esteem, relationship and communication difficulties, and experiences related to trauma, grief, or loss. I also have experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
I particularly enjoy working with adults, young adults, parents, professionals, and LGBTQ+ clients, and I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming, and compassionate care.
Outside of my professional role, I value balance, social justice, and reading for enjoyment. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and I strive to make the process feel approachable, respectful, and collaborative from the very first session.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, understood, and actively involved in the process. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in empathy. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you can explore challenges openly, build insight, and develop practical tools for meaningful change. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and goals, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.
My style is warm, supportive, and straightforward. I value authenticity and believe that real progress happens through a strong therapeutic relationship combined with evidence-based strategies. I focus not only on reducing symptoms, but also on helping clients build resilience, confidence, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. We’ll spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, and exploring your goals and hopes for the process. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, relevant history, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past, while also making space for any questions you may have.
The first session is also an opportunity to talk about how therapy works, what my approach looks like, and to make sure this feels like a good fit for you. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with—we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. By the end of the session, we’ll begin to identify next steps and how we might work together moving forward.
